Eastern Zone Winter Sport Finals

The Eastern Zone Winter Sport finals begin with Zone quarter finals on the 30th July and a Zone Finals Gala Day on the 6th August. The Winter Sports competed at Zone Level are Football (mixed), Tee-Ball(mixed & Girls), Netball (mixed & girls) and Soccer(mixed & girls). Winners of the Zone Finals Gala day go onto the TIMMS Regional Final the following week.

Eastern Zone Summer Sport Finals

The Eastern Zone Summer Sport finals begin with Zone quarter finals on the 22nd October and a Zone Finals Gala Day on the 29th October. The Summer Sports competed at Zone Level are Basketball (mixed & girls), Volleyball (mixed & girls) and Softball (mixed & girls). Winners of the Zone Finals Gala day go onto the TIMMS Regional Final the following week.

VPSSA 'Team Vic' Zone Sport Trials

The VPSSA selects players to represent Victoria in state teams to play against other states and territories in Australia. This selection process begins at the school level, with schools nominating a number of quality players to attend a district selection trial. Following successful performance at a District Trial students progress through Zone, Regional and State trials to earn a spot in a VPSSA 'Team Vic' Exchange/Carnival team.

NB-Some sports do not require District trials (or on occassions Zone and Regional trials) due to a small number of nominees (ie Softball, Hockey & Rugby).

Students can trial for the following VPSSA State Teams:
Football, Soccer (Boys and Girls), Basketball(Boys and Girls),Netball, Softball (Boys & Girls), Rugby League, Hockey (Boys and Girls)

All students nominating for any trial must complete a VPSSA Nomination Form (VPSSA main page)and should be nominated through their school.

TIMMS Region Major Events

The Eastern, Whitehorse and Maroondah Zones (3 of the 4 Zones within the TIMMS Regions) have major events (Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics) in conjunction with each other. This streamlines the process for students, teachers and schools. Furthermore it lightens the potential load of schools by preventing them from having to release students and teachers for two days (a Zone Carnival Day and a Regional Carnival Day). Outstanding performers for both Zone and Region are still recognised.
