State Swimming Championships

The top 3 individual placegetters and the top 2 relay teams for each age group qualify for the state swimming championships. Please note that this is different as per the Regional Swimming Information that was distributed at the Zone Championships. Any queries please call Andy Hair. 0439031109

State Championships- Tuesday 27th April at MSAC

Regional Swimming Championships

Championships to be held at Kardina Pool, Sth Geelong.

Entry is through qualification at Zone Championships. The first 4 placegetters in individual events plus the first 2 relay teams qualify for these championships.

Entry fee is $5 per child.

Programs are $2 each.

T-Shirts are on sale from 10am. There has only been a limited number printed so get in early to secure your shirt. Shrits are being sold for $18.

Swimming Program starts at 11am with marshalling beginning at 10:30am.

Cycling Championships - TBC

At this stage there is a proposed Track Cycling Championships to be held at Geelong West Velodrome.

The date for these championships will be Friday 5th November.

The format for the racing will be:

Morning- Individual Time Trials over 2km.

Afternoon- Group Cycling Championships/Criterium format over 2km. The top 12 qualifers from the morning time trials will qualify for this race. It is undecided yet as to whether the Afternoon session will be handicapped based on the time trials or raced as a scratch race.

Stay tuned. Promotion will be made available in your schools when confirmation of the day is made.

Contacting the Regional Officer

Please note that the role of the Regional Officer is shared with full time teaching roles. It is prefable that contact is made via email. If you need to call him please do so prior to 8:45am, 11am-11:30am, 1:40pm-2:20pm or after 3:30pm.

State Team Trials

Our Regional State Team Trials is a process that allows children to progress through a pathway to School Sport State Team selection. The initial nomination MUST be completed through your schools Physical Education Coordinator or Principal. These forms must then be sent by them to your area ZONE OFFICER. Forms that have not be signed WILL be returned. NO CHILD is allowed to turn up on the day without prior notification having been received by the Regional Convenor.

State Team Trials Basketball- Thursday 6th May- Geelong Life Be In It
State Team Trials Football/Netball/Soccer-Friday 7th May- Geelong College
Winer Sport Championships- Friday 13th August- Geelong College
Regional Athletics- Friday 15th October- Goldsworthy Reserve, Corio
Region Summer Sport Championships- Friday 13th November, Various Venues. Depending on sport.
