About VPSSA

ABOUT US

The Victorian Primary Schools' Sports Association is a committee of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and is responsible for the organisation of school sport for primary school children within the state.

The Association caters for over 430,000 school children throughout Victoria attending government, catholic and independent schools and is the largest school sporting organisation in the state.

The VPSSA is funded by an annual levy placed on all affiliated schools. Financial assistance from The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and money obtained from sponsorship also helps to finance the programs of the Association.

School Sport Officers are based at School Sport Victoria, situated at 189 Urquhart St, Coburg 3058 to administer the programs of the Association.

Region conveners, zone officers and district personnel are teachers who volunteer to undertake the conduct of sport sport activities in addition to the teaching commitments at their school.

The new organisation with have a yet to be agreed name and logo. To develop the structure to support the new entity, regular updates are uploaded on www.education.vic.gov/studentlearning/programs/schoolsportvic.htm
